Dr. Anthony Smith is a college professor dedicated to improving the lives of anyone interested in fitness development. As a teacher he believes that knowledge is the greatest tool for fitness and that clients should learn what each exercise is doing for them, to them, and why that is important. He has taught in public schools, undergraduate and graduate programs, presented at conferences, produced research, and studied the art of fitness programming so that he could deliver the most effective and efficient programs to clients and players.

3 Areas of Training

Personal training comes in many forms however, a real personalized touch is created for every individual at SHOTdoctor Training and Deliberate Practice. Years of hands-on experience and the latest sport-science research on training methods is introduced to each client - whether during a workout or consultation. Each workout is designed to help the client meet his/her short-term and long-term goals.

 

Strength and Conditioning is a different form of training than personal training, for different reasons. The exercises and programs are created to help develop the movements and actions necessary for enhanced performance during gameplay. All athletes can benefit from some for of strength and conditioning program - however, application of the correct training principles for each player, position, and sport are critical for individual success. 

 

Tactical Strength and Conditioning is another separate variation of training. This type of training prepares firemen, police, rescue squad members, national guardsmen and ROTC cadets for active duty in real-world scenarios. Exercises are tailored for specific jobs and career options to enhance performance during on the job tasks.
